Young Human Dimensions Researchers (YHDR)

YHDR's goal is to facilitate the professional development and work of young researchers in the field of Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change and thus to further develop this research area. As a first step, the group has set up an electronic discussion list. This will give young researchers the opportunity to exchange information and discuss their research activities, establish a network of young colleagues, disseminate information on upcoming events and develop projects that stimulate human dimensions research by young scientists.

Ideas for future activities include a database on the research activities of young researchers and relevant funding opportunities, initiating Joint Projects, mentor programmes and meetings set up specifically for the next generation of human dimensions researchers. YHDR is open to be shaped by those who will actively contribute, and its success will depend on their involvement. YHDR is endorsed by the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) and supported by the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN).

YHDR Discussion List: An IHDP and CIESIN-sponsored discussion list serves as a forum for the YHDR. To subscribe, send an email to listserv@ciesin.columbia.edu.
